Who controls your information

Compare Movers - Thames Valley is an independently operated UK sole-trader moving-comparison, information and lead-introduction service provided through slough-houseremovals.uk. Compare Movers - Thames Valley is the data controller for personal information submitted through this website.

The service is not a limited company, does not operate removal vehicles, does not carry out moves and does not sell removal services. It does not become a party to a contract between a customer and a selected moving company. Privacy questions can be sent to info@slough-houseremovals.uk.

Information we collect

For a moving request or early enquiry, we collect the route or areas, move date, property or load size, requested services, name, email address and telephone number that you choose to provide. We also record the consent attached to the submission. Telephone details are collected so responding moving partners can contact you directly about the request.

For a partner-registration invitation, we collect only the business name, business email and invitation consent submitted through the partner form. We may also receive limited technical and security information needed to deliver the site, prevent abuse and keep request records, such as an IP address, request time, browser information and an idempotency identifier.

How and why we use information

We use submitted information to provide moving information, produce an indicative planning range where available, process a comparison or early enquiry, introduce the request to potentially suitable moving partners, respond to support questions and deliver a requested partner-registration invitation. We also use limited records to operate and secure the service, prevent duplicate or abusive submissions and meet legal obligations.

The lawful basis depends on the activity. It may include taking steps at your request before a contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing the comparison service, compliance with legal obligations and the consent shown beside a form. We do not publish your move details or sell them to unrelated businesses for their own marketing. A partner invitation leads to a separate registration journey whose own identity, terms and privacy information are presented before a business submits a full application.

Partner review and your own checks

Partner applicants and relevant business, identity, insurance and supporting credential evidence are reviewed before acceptance. This review helps inform acceptance, but it is not a permanent guarantee that every credential remains current or that a mover is suitable for every job.

Before accepting a quote or making a booking, carry out your own due diligence. Check the mover's current trading identity, insurance, credentials, written scope of work, price, exclusions and terms. You decide which removal company to use, and any moving contract is made directly between you and that company.

Retention and security
